Our Chicken Eggshell Booster is made from cleaned, dried, and crushed chicken eggshells collected from our flock. Eggshells are naturally rich in calcium, making them a simple and useful addition for both garden soil and backyard chicken care.
This product reflects one of our favorite homestead values: using what we have well and wasting as little as possible.
🌱 For Garden Use
Chicken eggshells can be sprinkled into garden beds, containers, compost, or around plants as a slow-breakdown calcium source. They’re especially popular with gardeners growing tomatoes, peppers, squash, and other fruiting plants.
Suggested Use: Sprinkle lightly into soil, compost, or planting holes. For best results, mix into the soil rather than leaving in large piles on the surface.
🐔 For Chicken Feed Use
Crushed eggshells may be offered back to laying hens as a calcium supplement to support strong shells. This is best offered separately as a free-choice supplement, not as a full feed replacement.
Suggested Use: Place in a separate small dish or feeder so hens can take what they need.
